A 56-year-old farmer in Edo State, Henry Oyagbomwan, has been reportedly killed and buried in a shallow grave by five of his farm workers. He was said to have been killed after he reportedly sold pineapple worth N900,000 at his farm in Igueze village, Ovia Northeast local government area of Edo State, and police sources said the five workers collected the money from the pineapple sales, killed their employer and fled to different locations, two of them from AkwaIbom, the other three from the North.

The suspects, apprehended on Thursday by the command’s Anti-kidnap Unit, also allegedly buried the remains of the undergraduates in a shallow grave at Etio community, Eleme Local Government Area of the state. Reports say that the UNIPORT students were kidnapped on April 7, 2020 and murdered the same day. One of the suspects, who identified himself as Friday Akpan, from Akwa Ibom State, told journalists in the forest on Friday that two of his colleagues gang-raped the female among their victims, Joy Adoki, before eventually killing all of them.   A plane carrying 242 people has crashed at India's Ahmedabad Airport, according to local media.  The plane, heading to Gatwick, London, crashed when the aircraft was taking off from Ahmedabad airport in India, Reuters cites local TV channels as reporting.  Video circulating on social media shows massive plumes of smoke rising into the sky near the airport in the western city.    People were shown being carried on stretchers and taken away in ambulances.  According to police, the Air India plane crashed in a "civilian area" outside an airport.  The plane crashed into a residential area called Meghani Nagar, Faiz Ahmed Kidwai, the director general of the Directorate of Civil Aviation, has told the Associated Press.    The crash took place five minutes after taking off at 1:38pm local time, he said.
